Whole-Home Odor Treatment in Miami: How It Works and What It Can (and Can’t) Do

How Miami Restoration Experts Use Chlorine Dioxide Odor & Mold Treatment to Restore Indoor Air Quality

In Miami’s heat and humidity, odors don’t just hang in the air. They soak into drywall, carpet, furniture, closets, and the AC system that pushes air through your whole home. That’s why candles, sprays, and air fresheners only work for a few hours. Here’s an honest look at how a professional whole-home odor treatment works, and what it can and can’t do.

How the Treatment Works

  • A dry gas, not a wet fog: it spreads through every room, closet, and corner, including inside your AC system and ductwork, reaching places sprays and wipes can’t.
  • Breaks down odor instead of masking it: no perfumes or cover-up scents.
  • No wet residue: nothing soaks your walls, ducts, or belongings.
  • One visit, about 8 hours: everyone, including pets, must be out of the home during treatment. The technician tells you when it’s ready.

What It Can Do

It removes lingering odors from cigarette and cigar smoke, pets, musty and mildew smells, stale AC and ducts, cooking and garbage, and the leftover smell after water damage or a small fire, once the source has been cleaned up.

What It Can’t Do

  • It doesn’t remove mold. If mold is growing, it has to be removed by a licensed remediator and the moisture source fixed first. Otherwise the musty smell comes back.
  • It doesn’t fix the source. Soot from a fire, urine-soaked carpet padding, or an active leak needs to be cleaned, removed, or repaired.
  • It’s an odor treatment, not a medical one. If you have allergy symptoms along with a musty smell, hidden mold is a common cause, and a mold inspection is the right first step.

Our Approach at FL Cleanup

Because we’re a Florida-licensed mold assessor (MRSA4035) and mold remediator (MRSR4158), we’ll tell you honestly whether you have a mold problem or just an odor problem. If there’s mold, we fix that first. If it’s odor, our Whole-Home Odor Removal Treatment covers every room and one AC system for a flat $997, with each additional AC unit $550.

The treatment also covers an attached garage at no extra cost. Comparing it to store products? See odor eliminators for a whole house, compared. Wondering what it costs and who to call?
