Why Miami Homes Are Prone to Hidden Mold
Mold needs moisture, and South Florida has plenty. Most hidden mold we find starts with one of these:
- The AC system: clogged condensate lines, rusty drain pans, and sweating ducts
- Slow plumbing leaks: under sinks, behind dishwashers and washers, inside walls
- Roof and window leaks: especially after summer storms
- Condo leaks: water from the unit above or a shared pipe
Warning Signs
- A musty or earthy smell, often stronger when the AC runs
- Stains, bubbling paint, or soft spots on walls and ceilings
- Dark spots around AC vents or in closets
- A past leak that was never professionally dried
What to Do
- Get a free visual inspection. FL Cleanup is a Florida-licensed mold assessor (MRSA4035) and remediator (MRSR4158). - Fix the moisture source and have any mold removed properly with containment.
